CHRISTMAS GAMES!!!

EMMA WAS THE WINNER OF ONE OUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SIGHTWORD GAMES, "HO-HO-HO"! SHE GOT TO DIG IN CLIFFORD'S TREASURE CHEST AND LOOK WHAT SHE CHOSE...A WARM AND COZY SCARF!!!!! GOOD JOB EMMA!

VETERAN'S DAY CELEBRATION!!

Just a reminder that we are celebrating Veteran's Day on Monday, November 12th. We have special guest coming to our school to celebrate with us. Our class will go to the gym at 9:10 to hear the guest speakers. You are invited to come during that time as well. Just sign in at the office and head out to the gym at 9:10. The presentation will last approximately 45 minutes.

BIRTHDAY GIRLS!

We celebrated 2 birthdays this week!!! Mia L and Emma both turned 6 years old. We had delicious birthday cake for Mia's birthday and yummy cupcakes and cookies for Emma's! Happy Birthday Girls!!!

GARDENING at Kinder-garden!!!!

We learned a lot about gardening today! We learned that gardening is not only hard work, but can be a lot of fun when we work together! Two ladies, Ms. Karen and Ms. Elaine from the community are volunteering their time to help students at Carver work and learn in the garden! Brielle from our classroom donated a beautiful Passion Vine for us to plant in the garden. We cannot wait to see the beautiful purple flowers!

Clifford For President!!

Election Day at Carver!!! Students from across the campus came today to cast their vote for the best candidate!! Curious George, Clifford, Panda and Snoopy were all in the running for School President!! Each child got to cast their vote by secret ballot and vote for their favorite candidate!

Pressure Pete

On Friday we met Pressure Pete from the Quirkles! The Quirkles® are 26 imaginary scientists that help children everyday, all over the world, develop a love and appreciation for science. There is a scientist for each letter of the alphabet with a cool story and an experiment! Mrs. Janak read us the story about Pressure Pete and then we were able to do a pressure experiment! We think science experiments are super!

The children tried to drink through two straws-one in the water and one out of the water.

They were not able to suck any of the liquid because of the decrease in pressure! Perplexed is a word that we also learned while reading about Pressure Pete! We discovered why Pressure Pete was so perplexed, or confused!

The children discovered why drinking with one straw was easier. It was all about the pressure! The boys and girls decided that they would try this pressure experience the next time they had a chance to drink with a straw!
