OUR BUTTER RECIPE
1/2 PINT HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM
CLEAN JAR
POUR CREAM IN THE JAR
NOW SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!
AND THE END RESULT IS.... BUTTER!
LET THE SHAKING BEGIN!!
WE CAN'T WAIT TO TASTE OUR BUTTER!
IT SMELLS LIKE BUTTER!
AND IT TASTE LIKE BUTTER!
BUTTER IS YUMMY!
WHAT IS THE SCIENCE IN MAKING BUTTER?
HEAVY CREAM IS CALLED AN EMULSION. AN EMULSION EXISTS WHEN TINY DROPS OF LIQUID ARE FLOATING AROUND IN ANOTHER KIND OF LIQUID THAT DOES NOT LIKE TO MIX WITH THE FIRST. THE HEAVY CREAM IS MOSTLY FAT SUSPENDED IN WATER. BY SHAKING THE HEAVY CREAM IN THE JAR THE FAT BEGINS TO STICK TOGETHER. THE MORE YOU SHAKE THE CREAM THE BETTER THE FAT WILL STICK TOGETHER TO FORM BUTTER! IT'S MAGIC!!!!
