JACK-O-LANTERN RELAY!

BOBBING FOR APPLES!

Lots of Halloween fun at Carver Kindergarten today!!! We were so excited to see all our friends dressed up in costumes! There were Super Heroes, Dracula's, Princesses and Fairies and Batman too!  The students loved seeing their teachers all dressed as crayons as well! Halloween Centers on the playground were a blast!  We had a pumpkin relay and an "eye-ball" relay!  We even bobbed for apples and ate some "boney-legs" (pretzels)!  Thank you to all the parents who attended the Monster Mash in the gym!!!  And thanks to our magnificent PE teachers, Mrs. Hutchins and Ms. Martin!  Carver kids are the best!!!!

P is for Pumpkins and S is for spiders!!

Learning about letter Pp and letter Ss was so much fun especially when we could be silly spiders and perfect pumpkins!

SUPER STAR!!!

Brielle had a terrific time with Clifford over the weekend!!  She took Clifford to a Fall Festival and rode on a hayride!  She took him to her church and out to eat too!  Brielle was so happy to have Clifford with her for the weekend and she will cherish all the happy memories for a long time!

THANK YOU!!!!

Upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences!

Just a quick reminder there is no school for students on Monday, October 29!  I look forward to seeing all the parents at our conferences to discuss your child's progress.
Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Science with Susie Sound!

Learning about sound was sensational!!!
Today we visited Mrs. Janak's kindergarten classroom and read about Susie Sound and the Quirkles. We learned that sound is actually waves of energy. Then we did Susie Sound's Musical Glasses Experiment!   We poured different amounts of water in four of the same size drinking glasses. We concluded that the glass with the most water had the highest pitch and the glass with the least amount of water had the lowest pitch. According to the Quirkles, "When the air column is shorter, the air vibrates faster and the pitch is higher. As the height of the air column gets higher, the pitch of the sound gets lower." This was a "fun science learning experiment"!!!
We can't wait to meet "Pressure Pete" next week!!

Spin-a-roo!!

Another fun way to learn sight words...Sight words Spin-a-roo!!!  The students spin their spinner and then record on their own recording sheet to see which sight word they will spin the most!
